Finding a product that stays matte all day, can be very difficult. Although there are plenty of products on the market, (both high-end and drugstore) claiming to keep your makeup looking matte, I am always very skeptical. When I heard that Maybelline was launching additional products to the Fit Me! line, I was immediately drawn to the claims. I am already in love with Fit Me! concealer because of its great coverage.
Since I already have too much foundation at this time and needed a powder, I decided to pick up the Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Powder in Natural Buff. The powder is described as a tone and texture fitting powder for the ultimate natural fit. It claims to mattify and match your natural tone for a poreless-looking finish for up to 12 hours. On an everyday basis, I deal with normal to oily skin, so I thought that this would fit me (see what I did there?) well.
Besides for my humour, I know you came here for a review, so let’s break it down.
If you are looking for a quick yes or no on whether you should buy the product, I say yes. I found that it provided a buildable coverage, didn’t clog my pores and definitely mattified my face. However, I didn’t find it to be as long-lasting, (up to 12HR as stated on the packaging) as claimed. I applied it in the morning, and again after lunch. Also, if you have normal skin this might cause your face to be very dry. Although I do have combination skin, most of my skin is oily and this does a great job at keeping makeup in place.
Final thoughts? If you are oily on a regular basis, definitely pick this one up. Otherwise, consider picking up the original Fit Me! powder.
